Repair Structural Issues
Restorative dental care includes any procedure that aims to restore the normal function and appearance of your smile.
Our dentists can help restore your smile - and your oral health - by repairing structural issues like damaged or missing teeth.
Depending on your issue, the dentists at Thompson River Dental will determine the right restorative treatment option for you.
Dental Crowns
Crowns are porcelain caps placed on top of teeth to restore their function and appearance. Crowns attach bridges, cover dental implants or prevent a cracked tooth from worsening. They can also help to restore a discoloured or stained tooth to its natural appearance.
Dental Bridges
Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements bonded to existing teeth or implants to replace a section of missing teeth. Because they are custom-made, bridges should be barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth and the bite between the upper and lower teeth.
Dental Fillings
To repair a cavity or tooth damage, such as a crack, we use composite (tooth-coloured) fillings. These fillings can withstand moderate pressure from chewing stress and can be used on both front and back teeth.
Inlays & Onlays
Inlays and onlays are tooth-coloured porcelain fillings that are used to repair cavities that are too large for a standard dental filling. They are made to order in a dental laboratory and permanently bonded to the tooth as a single piece.
Root Canals
A root canal is when your dentist removes diseased blood vessels, nerves and tissues from the interior of a tooth. By doing this, your dentist can help halt the spread of infection and prevent the need for an extraction.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are artificial teeth that are used to replace one missing tooth or several missing teeth in a row. They allow patients with missing teeth to maintain their facial structure and to talk and eat properly.
Same-Day Restorations
Our dentists can use CEREC® technology to create and place porcelain crowns, inlays, and onlays in a single dental appointment to help restore your smile. There are no impressions or temporaries; just tooth-coloured, metal-free restorations in a single visit.
